Your Union
This is your union, and this section is a guide to how CUSU works and is governed. If you have an issue and you aren't sure who to turn to, check our list of exec teams or see the list of university committee representatives.
Managing the democratic structures of our union is delegated to the Democracy & Development team, headed by the President. If you need help putting together policy motions for CUSU or your JCR/MCR, they can help and advise you. The D & D team are also the point of contact if you are trying to petition for a referendum.
CUSU Council
CUSU Council is our main policy-making body and meets every fortnight during term. JCRs, MCRs, Faculty Representatives and other constituencies hold votes, ensuring all students are properly represented. Any student can bring policy proposals to Council.
CUSU is committed to transparency and so both our budget and the list of current valid policy is kept online and up to date by the Coordinator.
Our Constitution
The Constitution of CUSU consists of the Constitution itself, which can only be changed by referendum, and the Standing Orders, which can be changed at Council. Each autonomous campaigns has its own constitution as well.
