Societies

University-wide societies (registered)

These are registered as a University-wide society with the Junior Proctor and apply to the Sports or Societies Syndicates for further funding. CUSU recommends that societies register.

Funding

Once a registered society, you can apply to the Syndicates for funding. The University has therefore provided information on grants. The Coordinator sits on the two Syndicates and is happy to discuss potential/forthcoming grant applications.

Deadlines for applications for meetings are always two weeks before the date noted. Late applications may sometimes be considered.

Registration

To become a registered University society you must register with the Junior Proctor, a process which requires:

  • A constitution
  • A Senior Treasurer (a senior member of the University to audit your accounts)
  • A statement of accounts
  • Contact with the Junior Proctor (junior.proctor@admin.cam.ac.uk)

Full information

Full information on registration is on the University's pages, including notes on society formation.

CUSU also provides facilities and support for University-wide societies, although cannot provide funding.
