Cambridge University Yacht Club [CUCrC-CUYC]

Cambridge University Yacht Club (CUYC) organises affordable yacht sailing for all past and present members of the university, whether experienced or just interested beginners. CUYC runs every type of yachting trip from relaxed cruising and social trips, to hardcore adventurous trips, RYA training (day skipper, coastal skipper) including RYA/DoT skippers exams, and racing. During term time, trips go out on weekends throughout the year. Outside of term time, the club runs extended trips to attractive European cruising grounds. Trips happen on our club boat, a Sigma 38, or on chartered boats (racing trips, Mediterranean cruising). Ashore we maintain a varied programme of activities. For our base of nearly 200 members and 1,000 people on the mailing list, CUYC runs events ranging from formal RYA courses lasting a term or two, to single day courses such as radio and first aid, to social piss-ups down the pub or formal halls. Cambridge University Yacht Club is part of the Cambridge University Cruising Club (CUCrC). Membership costs £15 and lasts for a full year from the term of joining.
