Cambridge University Arab Society [CUArabSoc]

Are you Arab and homesick, or non-Arab and curious? Do you like Arab food, or music, or culture? Do you want to meet Arabs at Cambridge? If your answer to any of these was 'yes', then the Arabic Society is the place to go!

The society is engaged with the Cambridge University student body in a variety of ways.

On the social side, we organise popular arabic dinners, arabic movie film nights, middle eastern music events and other cultural events. These attract a large number of students ranging from Arab students to students studying Arabic or Middle Eastern studies to non-Arabs generally interested in learning about the region's rich culture to people who are in it for the free hummus!

The society also has a portfolio for offering the students a platform for debate, having hosted several seminars lead by esteemed academics, journalists and experts on issues related to the region. These also prove thought-provoking and popular.

On the professional/career-oriented side, we provide our extensive mailing list of students engaged with the Arab Society with regular updates from our sponsors and information about career opportunities in the region. We also have Arabic classes for those interested at a subsidized rate. We also have very close links and work with the 'Arab Innovation Network' that will be hosting its first ever conference in Abu Dhabi - December 2010.
