Cambridge University African-Caribbean Society [CUACS]
Cambridge University African Caribbean Society (CUACS) exists to provide a hub for students of African & Caribbean origin. In tandem with this, we also welcome anyone who is interested in aspects of the diverse African and Caribbean cultures.
The ACS centres on 3 goals:
EDUCATION: We hope that everyone from all cultures will get a chance to experience diverse culture across Africa and the Caribbean! Everyone is welcome, we aim not only to promote awareness in the Caribbean community but for the opportunity for everyone to learn and network with individuals from diverse cultures!
EMPOWERMENT: We are here to provide a strong social support network for African and Caribbean students and empower them with the skills and advice needed to succeed at Cambridge and beyond. Notable speakers who have visited the ACS have this year alone included Jesse Jackson and the cast from Adulthood! We are strongly committed to giving a voice to African and Caribbean students so concerns and suggestions for the University as a whole are taken seriously! We are here to help!
ENTERTAINMENT: Work giving you the blues? Let the ACS put some colour into your day and get a true taste of Africa and the Caribbean! You can expect to be invited to debates, raves, speakers, dinners, bowling, comedy shows and much more! The Cambridge ACS aims to embrace all tastes, and as such we are open to ALL suggestions for events! Anyone and everyone is welcome!
