Coordinator

The CUSU Coordinator is your contact for matters concerning the General Management of the Union and the provision of student services. The Coordinator's principal role is to administer the CUSU Offices in terms of staffing, facilities and all building and safety regulations. He/she also writes the CUSU budget, works closely with the Entertainments Manager and co-ordinates the creation and printing of publications.

Harriet Flower is the Coordinator for 2011-12.

Responsibilities of the Coordinator

Responsibilities of the Coordinator are twofold:

Student Services

The Coordinator is concerned with the provision and development of Student Services, including:

  • Reception services
  • Services and advice for societies
  • Other services in general (including updating email lists)

General Management

The remainder of the Coordinator's time is taken up with acting as the General Manager of the union, taking around 60-80% of her/his time. This involves administration of the following mandatory areas:

  • Staffing
  • Finance and budget
  • Equipment and procurement
  • Building safety and security
  • Data protection
  • Computer network
  • Legal compliance with statuory provisions such as Charities Legislation and Education Acts
  • Website direction and oversight
  • Communications e.g. mailing lists
  • Office protocol
  • Other miscellany
  • Acting as receptionist after 4pm each day
