Cambridge Town Takeover

Thursday 26th November

Cambridge Town Takeover

CUSU and Anglia Ruskin Students' Union are holding a series of events to combat rising university fees, joining up with the National Union Of Students (NUS) and the local community.

A review of higher education funding has been launched. If businesses and university chiefs have their way, fees are only going one way—and that's up. If the major parties have their way, the amount you pay for tuition and the debt you leave with won't even be discussed until after the next general election. They are hiding behind the HE Funding Review and are refusing to admit their positions. It's time for MPs to get off the fence, show their hands and come clean on fees.

Get involved by joining our Mass Rally and Town Hall Debate on Thursday 26th November

The Protest

12 noon onwards

We'll be marching from Anglia Ruskin on East Road, heading through the centre of Cambridge before an address from Student Union leaders. Look out for attention-grabbing stunts; with politicians staying silent on fees we will be sure to make plenty of noise along the way.

The route will take us across Parkers Piece, down St. Andrews Street, Sidney Street, Green Street, Trinity Street, Market Square, Kings Parade and Silver Street before finishing at Queens Pieces.

The Debate

Law Faculty, 7PM

This is your chance to grill the major parties' parliamentary candidates on the future of Higher Education funding. The debate is open to all so come along and have your say!
