The Library Syndicate is responsible for the University Library. It sets Library rules, scrutinises the work of the Librarian and sets long-term policy for the UL. It meets about once a term as most day-to-day issues are dealt with by the Librarian and Library Staff. The Library Syndicate is also responsible for the four dependant libraries: the Betty and Gordon Moore Library, the Medical Library, the Central Science Library and the Squire Law Library; the Agency for the Legal Deposit Libraries; and the University Archives.

The Rose Book-Collecting Prize

CUSU works with the University Library to publicise the Rose Book-Collecting Prize which is work £500 and is awarded annually for a student who has built the most interesting collection of books within the University.
