Cambridge University Russian Society [CURS]
Cambridge University Russian Society was founded in 2001 to bring together the people from the Russian Federation, the former Soviet republics and anyone else interested in the Russian culture and language. Among our honourary members are rock musicians Boris Grebenschikov, Leva and Shura B2, the Russian Ambassador to the UK His Excellency Yuri Fedotov, journalist Leonid Parfyonov, writer Dmitry Bykov.
Our society aims to provide an informal social network for those with connections to or interest in Russia. We organise a variety of events throughout the year including conversational evenings, film nights, concerts, talks, lectures and discussions, and, of course, parties and friendly get-togethers.
We have a superb website with a forum which has proven to be very popular amongst the Russian- and English speaking people in Cambridge, the UK and Russia. We forward relevant information to our members about events organised by the Cambridge Russian Speaking Society, Slavonic Department and others. Please register on the website to receive regular updates about our events and come to socialise with us throughout the year!
