Cambridge University Rock 'n' Roll [CURnR]

Continental Footwork is the style of footwork used in Rock 'n' Roll dancing in modern day competitions and demonstrations. It is a very energetic step, based upon sharp kicks, and has a bit of a bounce to it. Performed to faster music, continental footwork is very impressive. Continental steps can be combined with acrobatic figures to make a routine.

Authentic footwork is more old style. It is a very social step, requiring less energy. Performed to slower music, authentic 50's steps look stylish and won't make you break a sweat.

Acrobatic Rock 'n' Roll
Acrobatic figures are great fun. Contrary to popular belief, anybody can try out acrobatic figures in our acrobatic class - you do not need any experience. The figures vary in difficulty from a simple cartwheel to an impressive flame (seen in the picture to the left). If you come along for just one term to the acrobatic class, you will develop a repertoire of 10+ simple acrobatic figures with which to impress your friends.
