The Marlowe Dramatic Society

The Marlowe Society was set up and exists to perform Elizabethan, verse, and non-realist plays; to promote verse speaking, ensemble values, plays rarely seen on the professional stage; and to study the text with a view to developing the skills necessary for such performances. We present an annual production in the Cambridge Arts Theatre and other performances, talks, workshops and events throughout the year. The other major strand to the Marlowe's policy is the promotion of new play writing, annually awarding the Marlowe/RSC Other Prize, and running Scriptlab - a series of writing development workshops.
