International Criminal Court Student Network [ICCSN]

Logo

The International Criminal Court Student Network (ICCSN) is an international network that brings together university students interested in the ICC and international criminal justice, and serves as a forum for discussion and information dissemination on issues of international criminal law and the Court itself. Currently, the network consists of students at six universities, based across London and The Netherlands.

The ICCSN was founded with the firm conviction that students are the future, and that it is only when students and youth, and policy makers are united in their knowledge and support of the ICC, that the revolution in international criminal justice in the past two decades can sustain itself and continue to grow. There has never been a more opportune time for youth around the world to engage in a serious, informed discussion about the future of international justice. We believe strongly that students are the future - and it is our duty as students to be engaged, learn, debate, challenge, and support.

Over the past year, activities include the establishment of an ICC Moot Court Competition in London, the first international criminal law moot tournament in the United Kingdom. We have also hosted speakers and seminars on issues of international criminal law, and organized a trip to The Hague to visit the Court and other criminal tribunals for our members. ICCSN works to assist with several research projects of a number of NGOs that work in international criminal justice. We are currently working to publish our own law journal, the first ever student-run journal on international criminal justice, and have commenced a research project on rape and sexual violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo, due to be published in mid-2009.
