Cambridge University Gilbert and Sullivan Society

Joining the CU G&S society is possibly the single most significant event that you can perform in your entire life. It is on a par with such life-changing events as birth, death and finals. No-one experiences the marvellous works of Sir WS Gilbert and Sir Arthur Sullivan unaffected!

In addition to putting on a show each term, the highlight of the G&S Society calendar is the summer tour to Cornwall, during which the society performs in the Minack theatre. A truly unique performance experience is afforded by this beautiful, cliff-top theatre. Every year, a large troupe of people have a magical experience, and may even make friends for life.

Although members are welcome to participate in any single project, the G&S Society is well known for its sociability, and has a strong events calendar in addition to its productions, which provides fabulous opportunities to meet lots of lovely people! To whet your appetite, these include singthroughs of G&S operas, in a festive atmosphere complemented by free gourmet food and drink! We also hold movie nights, pub crawls and subsidize trips to the theatre for members. A festive Christmas party, glamorous Annual Dinner and gorgeous garden party complete the irresistible parcel!

With ample opportunity for performers of the highest calibre, inclusive productions and splendid social events, we really believe that the G&S Society has something to offer everyone! May your life be suffused with the jollity of G&S.
