Fisher Society - Cambridge University Catholic Chaplaincy

Logo

The Fisher Society, which is student-run, provides lunch (Monday to Saturday at 1-2pm) and many other social events throughout the term. There is a library that is open every day, and a bar that opens every Friday in full term (from 8.30-11.30pm). Its central location makes it an ideal place for meeting people outside of college. Catholic students, and anyone who regularly attends Mass at Fisher House, are automatically members of the Fisher Society. Everyone is welcome to join the events organised by the society.

The Cambridge University Catholic Chaplaincy, known as Fisher House, was founded by papal indult in 1895 when Catholics were allowed once more to read for degrees at Oxford and Cambridge Universities. Since 1924 the home of the Chaplaincy has been Fisher House, a former inn (built c1600). The Chaplain is Fr Alban McCoy OFM Conv (chaplain@fisherhouse.org.uk).

Membership is free due to the generous grant given by the Cambridge University Catholic Association.
