Much of CUSU's work focuses on supporting and enabling the work of JCR and MCR officers, student society officers, faculty reps, and others across the University, providing information and resources to them.

In Lent 2007, a number of student officers examined university and college committee's use of Reserved Business. From this the following documents have been written up: Guidelines Reserved Business, Reserved Business Questionnaire and Answers, Analysis of Reserve Business Questionnaire Results, Faculty Boards and Reserved Business, Freedom of Information and Data Protection.

As well as support for officers, CUSU also provides Welfare and Academic Affairs support to individual students.
