Cambridge Gaza Solidarity [CGS]

We are the group that has emerged from the sit-in of the Law Faculty at the beginning of Lent 2009. We took that action in an effort to draw attention to the situation in Israel-Palestine, and bring real, concrete aid and political change to the people whose lives have been devastated in Gaza, most recently by 'Operation Cast Lead', but generally by the blockade, which has trapped the entire population inside the Gaza Strip. We are also committed to supporting peace movements in Israel, and bringing aid to people facing hardship and persecution in the West Bank, as well as the refugee camps.

Our views on one-state versus two-state are diverse, but we are united by the belief that it is unacceptable to treat an entire people as if they are all terrorists; the Palestinian people must be given a solution that allows them to live in peace, freedom and dignity; and we can contribute to that change from Cambridge.

Join us! We're working on awareness-raising and dialoguing events; scholarships for Palestinian students; fund-raising; anything that can make a difference to the situation in Israel-Palestine.
