Campaign for Female Education [CamFed]

Logo

Camfed, the Campaign for Female Education, fights poverty and HIV/AIDS in rural Africa by investing in young women's education, enterprise and leadership. Since 1993, Camfed has been working in partnership with poor communities in Ghana, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe to create positive and lasting change. With the support of the University of Cambridge, which chose Camfed as its 800th Anniversary Charity of the Year, Camfed is launching its programme in Malawi, where 86% of rural girls do not make the transition from primary to secondary school because their families cannot afford to meet the costs. With the help of Cambridge University students, staff and alumni, we can change this. To celebrate 800 years of education at Cambridge, we plan to raise enough money to provide secondary education for 800 girls in Malawi. If you’d like to get involved in fundraising to help transform lives in Malawi, please contact Emma on estuart@camfed.org.
