'In The Blood' by Suzan-Lori Parks
The Black Students' Campaign joins forces with CUSU Anti-Racism to literally move you in a way that has never been done before.
This play is the story of Hester, Hester la Negrita, the mother, the worker, the oppressed black woman with a sense of humour the size of the States and no money to feed her children. The music is straining through the theatre, the set is banging and the people are shouting to the beat that jumps through everything, every seat, every head, every complacent conservative and mindless mind. Hester la Negrita will jump through your head like a hip-hop migraine.
'In the Blood' is both an opportunity to show an innovative piece in a popular Cambridge theater and serves as a hugely influential sociam message to the students of Cambridge.' (Lyeanne Beckford-Jones Part 1 SPS student of New Hall College, Cambridge)
Through the universal medium of drama, music and dance we hope to bring issues to that affect us all to the forefront in thought-provoking and truly mind blowing experience.
