Welfare and Anti-Racism: Reporting Incidents

According to The Student's Handbook for 1999-2000:

"The University will respect the particular sensitivity and confidentiality of complaints about racial harassment and their consequences... It is the University's policy to take any incidents seriously and to act appropriately."

[4.3 Harassment and Bullying, pp. 61-66]

CUSU Anti-Racism welcomes all reports of incidents and will help and assist to deal with them in the most confidential manner. Please report any incidents to the student Officer:

Dealing with incidents of Racism

If the incident occurs within college, the best person to talk to initially is a Tutor.

Other sources of counselling in college include the chaplain and the college nurse. Trained counsellors can be telephoned at:

  • Linkline (Tel: 01223 67575)

Other groups include the Black Women's Support Group.

If you would prefer only to talk to a student, either the college welfare officer or CUSU Welfare & Graduates Officer [cusu.cam.ac.uk@CUSU Welfare & Graduates Officer] could be contacted. Of course, the issue can always be raised with the CUSU Anti-Racism Officer [cusu.cam.ac.uk@CUSU Anti-Racism Officer] whose particular concern is with welfare issues regarding racism.
