CUSU Education Officer (Sabbatical Officer) - Head of Team The CUSU Education Officer heads the CUSU Education Team, trains and guides Faculty Reps and College Academic Officers in pushing for change in your Faculties and Colleges, as well as actively campaigning with you both within and beyond the University. For example, the Education Officer runs the Faculty Forum, where all undergraduate and graduate Faculty Reps come together to share best practice, exchange ideas and coordinate campaigns. The Education Officer also assists Faculty Reps on a day-to-day basis and organizes training events. The Education Officer represents students also at a variety of University and inter-collegiate committees, such as the Senior Tutors' Education Committee or the General Board of the Faculties, ensuring that issues that concern students are heard at the highest levels within the University. The CUSU Education Officer is also a trained Student Advice Officer who can support, inform and represent you if things are tough academically or personally. Like all other CUSU Sabbatical Officers, the CUSU Education Officer is elected by a general ballot of all students at the annual Lent elections. |

CUSU Undergraduate Faculty Academic Officer The UG Faculty Academic Officer assists the CUSU Education Officer in coordinating the undergrad Faculty and Departmental Reps. This means helping out at the meetings of Faculty Forums, making it easier to share best practice across departments and faculties, promoting Faculty Rep nominations and elections, and being involved in CUSU education campaigns. The issues that concern student reps are very diverse, but one of the main issues that student reps face continuously are teaching and learning within the department or faculty – ranging from which courses are taught, what the ratio of lectures and supervisions should be, to the introduction of an entirely new tripos. Other topics are exam feedback, library matters, and much more. The UG Faculty Academic Officer is elected by CUSU Council at the First meeting of Lent Term each year. |

CUSU Undergraduate College Academic Officer The role of the CUSU UG College Academic Officer is to support the JCR Academic Affairs Officers (or equivalent positions) across the various colleges. Most issues relate to college supervision arrangements and college libraries. This year, CUSU is doing a lot of work particularly in relation to Academic Feedback Sessions. These are sessions where College Academic Affairs Officers convene all students from each subject in their college and gather feedback on their supervisions and their study experience in general. The Academic Affairs Officer then writes a report with all the feedback to the Senior Tutor who can pass the feedback on to the relevant people. The CUSU UG College Academic Officer is elected by CUSU Council at the Third meeting of Michaelmas Term. |
