College Academic Affairs Officers
Holding responsibility for Academic Affairs in your college is a position of great importance for student support and improving the learning experience of students. CUSU can do a lot to help you in your work.
Firstly, we provide training and support both through training sessions and by always being available for advice. The Officer in charge of this is the CUSU Education Officer (the full time Sabbatical Officer).
Secondly, we provide representation on many high level inter-collegiate committees. This means that if you are unhappy about something in your College, we might have a chance of changing it at another level. We sit on the Senior Tutors' Committee (CUSU President), the Senior Tutors' Standing Committee on Education (CUSU Education Officer), Senior Tutors' Standing Committee on Welfare & Finance (CUSU Welfare & Graduates Officer) and the Graduate Tutors' Committee (CUSU Welfare & Graduates Officer).
Finally, we offer resources for "campaigning" which can be anything from using CUSU-headed paper for writing letters to full demonstrations and pickets, as necessary.
Current campaigns issues which you may wish to take up in your College are improving Study Skills Provision, improving supervisons and plagiarism awareness.
